Underwater Diving by SpinningPlumbobs adds a dedicated underwater exploration system to The Sims 4, giving Sims a new way to experience the ocean beyond ordinary surface swimming. The mod uses custom gameplay objects, animations, poses, movement styles, and visual elements to create the impression of a more complete underwater environment.
Sims can dive beneath the water and explore specially created underwater areas, with the experience functioning as its own gameplay system rather than simply extending standard swimming. Both regular Sims and Mermaids can take part, making the mod suitable for realistic diving stories as well as fantasy-focused ocean gameplay.
Underwater exploration can include activities such as fishing, exploring caves, encountering sharks, and discovering underwater locations. These features provide opportunities for stories centered around diving adventures, marine exploration, hidden places, and ocean mysteries.

The mod works especially well alongside Sea-nery Stuff, SpinningPlumbobs' ocean-themed Build/Buy set. The set includes objects for creating underwater scenes, with some items offering additional functionality. Updates to Sea-nery Stuff have also prepared several objects for use with the underwater system, including an Underwater Cave with animated seaweed and additional kelp variations for use with the Expanded Mermaids mod.
Underwater Diving is a creative gameplay addition for players who want more visible underwater adventures in The Sims 4, particularly for diving, Mermaid gameplay, and custom ocean storytelling.
