The initial batch of stations includes R&B, Country, Big Band, Bluegrass, JamBands, Rave, and Total Oldies Hits. Later releases have expanded this list with stations like The Urbz (inspired by The Sims: The Urbz), Showtime (from The Sims 3), Instrumentals, Old School Rock, medieval-themed Old World, and Sci-Fi stations. Each station is released as a separate package, so players can install only the ones they want.
To use the mod, players must first install the Custom Channel Injector script into their Mods folder. Once the base script is in place, each chosen station package can also be placed into the Mods folder. The stations will then appear in the audio device menu for stereos, earbuds, wall speakers, and even the in-game smart assistant.
The stations are fully functional with in-game features like music preferences (Sims can like or dislike genres), moodlets triggered by listening, and appear consistently across music-capable devices. Since each station is modular, users have full control over how many they install or remove.
This mod is well-loved by players who want to personalize their Sims' environments with more varied soundscapes or immerse themselves in specific time periods, cultural vibes, or callback experiences to earlier Sims games.
