Actor Overhaul by maplebell expands the acting career in The Sims 4 by adding more opportunities, career activities, celebrity events, and professional development options. Designed to complement the acting system from Get Famous, the mod gives aspiring actors more ways to build their reputations, find work, attend acting school, and establish themselves in the entertainment industry.
Actor Dashboard
Sims with at least Level 1 in the Acting skill gain access to a dedicated Actor Dashboard, where they can browse acting roles, take local acting classes, and prepare professional materials such as headshots, resumes, and demo reels. These activities can improve a Sim's reputation and help with career opportunities.
Sims can also submit their materials for auditions and casting calls, giving them opportunities to find new acting jobs and earn money. Players can hire an agent to help secure additional gigs and manage their acting careers.
Ward School of Arts
The mod introduces an acting education system through the Ward School of Arts, where Young Adult and older Sims can enroll in the Acting Student career. Admission requires an audition, and students can qualify through regular enrollment or scholarships.
The school features an eight-level progression system with different requirements, including performing in school productions, writing assignments, organizing performances, attending charity activities, booking acting gigs, and preparing professional materials.
Students can also participate in 17 production themes, including Circus Spectacular, Fantasy Adventure, and Superhero Saga. The latest version adds the ability to check upcoming exam subjects and rehearse beforehand. Prepared students can pass one Acting career level earlier.
Agents, Managers, and Publicists
Actor Overhaul expands professional representation with several new services:
Agents: Help Sims find acting gigs and manage their professional opportunities. Agent responses now arrive within one Sim day, and the relationship between an actor and their agent is displayed in the relationship panel.
Managers: Sims can hire a manager for §500. While the Managed moodlet is active, acting gigs pay 25% more for seven Sim days.
Publicists: For §750, Sims can arrange a reputation campaign to improve or negatively affect their public image. Campaigns can be arranged once every three Sim days.
Celebrity Events and Acting Gigs
Famous Sims gain access to additional celebrity gatherings through the dedicated Celeb Events menu. Available events include Red Carpet Galas, Film Premieres, Charity Galas, Fashion Shows, Celebrity Photoshoots, VIP Parties, and Awards After-Parties.
These events have specific schedules and fame requirements. Depending on their choices and experiences, Sims can meet other celebrities and encounter situations that influence their careers, fame, and reputation.
The mod also expands available acting roles and gig opportunities, with adjustments to career requirements, payments, descriptions, and progression.
Actor Overhaul is designed for The Sims 4: Get Famous and requires the XML Injector, Maplebell Pie Menu, and Lumpinou's Mood Pack. The download is divided into six feature packages: Base, Actor Activities, Agent, Gigs, Acting School, and Celebrity Events. The Base package is mandatory, while the remaining packages can be selected according to the features you want to use. Install all six for the complete experience.
