School's Out
Send child and teen Sims to boarding school with School's Out, featuring 15- or 30-day programs, scholarships, campus visits, and family interactions.

School's Out by Thatssojordy adds a boarding school system to The Sims 4, allowing children and teens to leave home and attend specialized schools for 15 or 30 Sim days. While enrolled, students live away from their families, but parents and relatives can still stay in touch through phone calls, video chats, visits, and care packages.

The School's Out computer app lets older Sims research available schools, read program information, visit campuses, apply for scholarships, and manage enrollment. Once a family member joins a boarding school, an equivalent phone version of the app also becomes available.

Several study paths are available, including Nature, Sports, Arts, Culinary, Business, and Science, although some options are limited to Teen Sims. Each school has its own focus and tuition cost. Scholarships can reduce the price, with awards based on a chance of approval and tied to the chosen field of study. Scholarships last for the current paid term and must be applied for again for a new term.

Children must be enrolled by an adult, while Teens can enroll themselves. Players can choose between a 15-day semester or a 30-day full year. The current system does not use academic grades, so students cannot fail based on school performance.

Boarding students can still participate in family life from afar. They may call home, receive updates, attend Parent Days, return home temporarily for several days, or visit during certain holidays when Seasons is installed. Families can also send gifts such as books, toys, photos, handmade items, and food.

The mod also supports aging while away at boarding school. Children who become Teens leave their current school and must enroll again, while Teen Sims are removed from boarding school when they reach the next life stage. With High School Years, additional graduation outcomes may be incorporated.

Students can also form Study Buddy relationships, work on homework and school projects together, and receive bonuses when studying alongside their designated study partners. Additional social interactions are included for parents, students, scholarships, visits, and boarding school life.

To prevent students from attempting to attend the regular school at the same time, Quit School by Triplis is required. Seasons and High School Years are optional and provide additional holiday and graduation features.
