Enrich elder gameplay with Elders Expanded, featuring hearing aids, glasses, dentures, therapy, retirement benefits, and community events.
Elders Expanded by llazyneiph adds more depth to the Elder life stage in The Sims 4, introducing age-related health changes, new social interactions, retirement benefits, and additional care options. The mod gives older Sims more opportunities to enjoy their later years while navigating everyday challenges associated with aging.
When Sims become Elders, they have a chance to develop vision, hearing, or dental issues, which can lead to new moodlets and the need for specialized care. Sims can visit an optician for an eyesight check, consult an audiologist about hearing difficulties, or arrange to have dentures fitted. Glasses, hearing aids, and dentures come with their own interactions and gameplay effects, encouraging Sims to maintain their well-being.
The mod also adds several mental wellness features. Elder Sims can visit a therapist, attend grief support groups after losing someone close, and practice deep breathing to improve their mood. Depending on their personality and circumstances, newly aged Elders may also develop traits such as Grumpy, Prone to Loneliness, Slow Mover, or Restless Sleeper.
To make retirement more manageable, Sims can apply for a pension that pays §500 per week once approved. Retired Sims can also benefit from a caretaker service that visits daily to help with household chores, gardening, and companionship. Additionally, the Meals on Wheels service delivers a daily meal, with vegetarian options provided when appropriate. Sims receiving a pension can access free caretaker services and discounted meal deliveries.
For more community interaction, the mod introduces a Community Centre lot trait that can be added to most non-residential lots. Elder Sims can gather there to socialize, with scheduled activities including visits from elementary school children on Fridays and Puppy Playday on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Puppy Playday requires The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs.
Other small additions bring more personality to elder gameplay, including special interactions with children, such as giving them candy, and optional cheats that allow players to manage certain health-related requirements.
Elders Expanded is Base Game Compatible and requires the XML Injector and Lot51 Core Library. Cats & Dogs is only necessary for the optional Puppy Playday activity.
This mod is a great addition for players who enjoy family-centered storytelling, generational gameplay, and more detailed experiences for their Elder Sims, from retirement and community activities to health care and everyday support.
REQUIREMENTS:
Base Game
Cats & Dogs (for the optional Puppy Playday activity)
