Your Sims can now navigate the challenging decisions that come with aging. No more worrying over your elder Sims' well-being, as nursing homes have now become a viable choice for their care.

Designed to be minimally intrusive, this mod encourages you to engage your Sims' imagination. When you feel that your elder Sims require specialized support, you can embark on a journey to explore the world of nursing homes. This mod grants you access to a variety of options, each offering a distinct vibe, cost, and benefits. Whether you're looking for an upscale senior living community or a warm and nurturing environment, you'll have three options to choose from. Start exploring the different nursing home options available to you.

You have several options for sending your elder sim to a nursing home. Fill out an interest form and a representative will contact you promptly.

There are three nursing homes to choose from:

Green Tea Home Care - $1,250 simoleons a week

Du Pondersoa - $4,000 simoleons a week

Desert Palms -   $10,000 simoleons a week

Nursing Home Order

If you decide a nursing home would be the best suitable option for your elder sim, the next step is getting an order from the physician by scheduling a meeting with him/her during which they will be able to choose from a wide list of symptoms the elder may have. Now this is where you will use your creativity and choose one that would best align with your story and gameplay.

Your Sim might really be eager to have the elder sent to a nursing home for reasons that could range from genuine concern to potentially more questionable motives. Your Sim can offer a substantial bribe to the physician which could influence the  decision of the physician and make them more inclined to approve and issue the nursing home order.

Your sim will eventually receive a call informing them that the results are ready. Your Sim can then determine whether the nursing home order has been issued or not based on the results.

If the nursing home order hasn't been issued and this wasn't the outcome that you wanted, please read the section below. But if the nursing order has already been issued, you can proceed to the next step. It's important to note that these steps are independent of each other and you can pursue them in the order of your preference.

Finances

Finances play a crucial part in determining how your Sim will cover the costs of the nursing home. Here are the options you can choose from:

Medicare: You sim will qualify for Medicare if your household funds are below 30,000 simoleons.

VA Benefits: Your sim can apply for VA benefits if your sims was a veteran. There aren't any specific conditions for this in the mod because it would require Strangerville as a requirement and might not be suitable for elders with no established history.

You can select the financial option that best fits your Sim's situation and the history you imagined for them.

Self Pay/Private Pay: Self Explanatory

Finally, obtaining permission from the elders is a crucial step because you cannot just place them in a nursing home against their will. However, if an elder's mental health has deteriorated to the point where they cannot make this decision on their own, you'll need documentation from a healthcare provider to inform the nursing home that the elder is no longer capable of making decisions on their own and will be needing external assistance. It's important to respect the autonomy and well-being of the elder Sims in your care while ensuring their needs are met.

If you don't have the required documentation, you will need to directly seek permission from the elder. The response you receive can vary, depending on the elder's wishes and their relationship with your Sim.

Once you've successfully navigated completed everything, you can then submit your application to the nursing home. You'll have to wait for the response from the nursing home, which will provide further direction in the process. Your patience and careful consideration of each step are key to ensuring the well-being and comfort of your elder Sims in their new living arrangements.

After the nursing home reviews your application, they will contact your Sim about the outcome. Your Sim will then have the opportunity to send the elder to the nursing home. Make sure you are ready as the initial payment will automatically be deducted immediately upon their admission.

You'll continue to make payments on a weekly basis after that based on the amount and nursing home option you chose.

Your Sims can visit the elder during specified visiting hours, and their feelings about these visits may vary depending on their individual relationships and emotions at that time.

If, for any reason, your Sim changes their mind about the nursing home arrangement, they will have the option to withdraw the elder. The elder will then return home which can be a practical solution when your Sim can no longer afford the payments, wishes to explore other options, or simply misses their elder sim.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

If You Didn't Get a Nursing Home Order:

If you didn't receive a nursing home order, you can wait for 24 hours for the results to reset and then try again. There's a chance that you might receive a nursing home order on your next attempt.

If the Elder Keeps Refusing the Nursing Home Request:

You will have to wait a few hours for the interaction to become available again. Alternatively, you can try having another household member approach the elder to make the request. The elder may be more receptive to them.

If You Don't Want to Ask for Permission:

If you prefer not to seek the elder's permission, choose the "memory loss or confusion" option when the doctor asks for symptoms. This allows you to proceed without their consent.

If You're Being Charged Twice:

Be sure to select just ONE payment option when setting up the financing for the nursing home. If you regret your choice, you can withdraw the elder from the nursing home. If you have MC Command Center, you can use cheats to remove the buff associated with your initial financing option.

These tips should help you navigate various situations and ensure a smooth experience with the nursing home arrangement in your gameplay.
