School Breaks by SonozakiSisters, now remade as Academical Breaks, adds a customizable holiday system to The Sims 4, giving students and educators scheduled time off throughout the year. Instead of having children and teens attend school continuously, players can configure academic breaks to fit their preferred seasonal calendar.
The mod lets players set the start and end dates of school holidays for each season through the in-game phone or computer settings. Once configured, breaks begin and end automatically, with notifications informing players when the schedule changes. The system applies to eligible Sims across households, so holiday schedules continue to work even when switching between families.
The updated remake also extends breaks to university students and Sims working in the Education career. It supports custom school mods, university degrees, and after-school activities, allowing academic holidays to work across a wider range of educational gameplay.
Academical Breaks retains the previous mod's settings format and interface while improving how the game determines when breaks should start or finish. The latest version also fixes issues involving break schedules not being applied correctly and Sims receiving holidays after their breaks have ended.
The mod can be used alongside Education Overhaul by Adeepindigo, provided you do not use that mod's School Holidays module at the same time. Avoid installing other mods that independently control academic breaks, as they may conflict.
Academical Breaks is a useful gameplay enhancement for players who want more realistic school calendars, customizable seasonal holidays, and scheduled time off for students and teachers in The Sims 4.
