Faster Tuning Loading by HNRYMods is a performance utility for The Sims 4 designed to reduce game startup times for players with large collections of gameplay and tuning mods. It optimizes how the game processes tuning files, helping avoid unnecessary repeated work during loading.

The game normally reads tuning files twice during startup. This mod streamlines the process by using the game's built-in XML reader for the initial check and creating a cache of tuning data for subsequent launches. Once the cache is generated, the game can reuse previously processed data instead of parsing the same files again.

The improvement is most noticeable for players with large numbers of tuning mods that add or modify gameplay behavior. Custom content focused on Create-a-Sim (CAS) clothing, accessories, and Build/Buy objects is not the primary target, so players whose Mods folders mainly contain these items may see little difference.

The mod also includes an optimization for save loading when The Sims 4: Lovestruck is installed. It reduces repeated attraction checks between Sims during the save-loading process by ensuring each Sim is checked once at the appropriate stage. In the creator's test save, this particular step decreased from approximately 23 seconds to under 2 seconds. The Lovestruck-specific optimization does not run when that expansion is absent.

After the initial installation, the first launch may take slightly longer because the cache needs to be created. The cache may also rebuild after adding, removing, or updating package files, changing Resource.cfg, or installing a new version of the mod. Subsequent launches can benefit once the cache is ready.

Faster Tuning Loading is Base Game compatible and does not require any additional packs. Script Mods must be enabled, and the included .ts4script file should be placed directly in the Mods folder or one subfolder deep. The creator has tested the mod on Windows 11; macOS compatibility has not been tested.

This utility is especially useful for players who use many gameplay-mod packages and want to reduce repetitive loading work without removing their existing mods. It optimizes specific loading processes rather than guaranteeing improvements to every form of lag or overall game performance.
