Simp's Setters is designed to give players more flexibility when balancing visual quality against game performance. Available settings include options related to Ambient Occlusion, Distance Blur, clipping behavior, frame-rate limits, and other GraphicsRules values. The configuration can also account for the capabilities of the player's graphics card and adjust values accordingly.
The project includes three optional presets:
- Default with Distance Blur — keeps most settings at their defaults while enabling Ambient Occlusion and Distance Blur.
- Ultimate Performance — prioritizes smoother performance, with some visual quality sacrificed for speed.
- Ultimate Quality — pushes visual settings much higher and is intended primarily for powerful systems or screenshot-focused gameplay.
Installation and Customization
The download contains GraphicsRules.sgr, SimpsSetters.sgr, and MySetters.sgr. These files are placed in The Sims 4 Config Override folder. When updating, players should replace the GraphicsRules and SimpsSetters files while preserving their existing MySetters file so their personal configuration is not lost.
Players who want to customize the setup can select individual options from the creator's settings reference and add only the setters they want to change. This makes the system suitable for both beginners who simply want to use a preset and advanced players who want more detailed control over their graphics configuration.
Simp's Setters is therefore best suited to Simmers looking for more control over The Sims 4 graphics, performance, visual effects, and rendering settings, rather than players looking for new gameplay features.
