How To Enable Mods And Custom Content

This is a simple guide for those who are new to using Mods or Custom Contents (CCs) and do not know how to enable them in their game.

As a precautionary measure, I would suggest that you backup your game before putting and enabling Mods and Custom Contents in your game and take note of the following:
* Putting mods or CCs into your game can cause bugs/errors in your game.  Should you encounter bugs or errors, you may use Sims4Studio to batch update CCs, or Sims 4 Tray Importer to check for broken CCs.  It is advised that you update or delete broken CCs before playing your game. If these do not work, try the 50/50 method.  These are just my recommendations with the assumption that you know what you are doing. Proceed at your own risk.

* You are supposed to delete the “localthumbcache.package” file out of your folder every time you add or remove mods.

* When there is a game update, you are supposed to remove these mods from your game and backup your save files.
So, here's how to enable Mods and Custom Content in The Sims 4:
While your game is running, go to Options Menu.

Or to Game Options if you've loaded a game already:

Click Game Options and then click on "Other":

Make sure that the boxes beside "Enable Custom Content Mode" and "Scripts Mod Allowed" are checked by clicking on them:

You will need to restart your game for the changes to take effect and that's it! 😊😊😊

If your mods keep getting disabled repeatedly, try the suggestions here.

Be sure to follow safety precautions on using Mods and Custom Contents so you can enjoy a smooth game made more fun and realistic by Mods and Custom Contents you added!

Happy simming! 😊😊😊
