This mod adds hundreds of work activities, career events, skill gains, and moodlets to your game.
Smart ♡ Better Careers by KawaiiStacie overhauls existing careers in The Sims 4 by adding more activities, interactions, and outcomes to regular rabbit-hole workdays. Instead of simply disappearing from the lot and returning hours later, Sims can now have more varied experiences while at work, with visible activities appearing in their action queue.
The mod includes 35 career override packages, more than 400 work choices, over 600 visible workplace activities, and 2,000+ moodlets and buffs linked to work events and their outcomes. Depending on their career and activities, Sims can gain skills, improve their needs, develop character values when supported by the installed packs, and experience different emotional reactions during or after a shift.
While working, Sims may check their phones, play games, read, watch videos, freshen up, use the bathroom, grab snacks, complete career-specific tasks, or deal with unexpected workplace situations. The activity queue shows what the Sim is doing, making workdays feel more interactive and giving players a clearer view of their Sims' routines.
The mod also adds positive and negative work events, relationship effects, and social interactions. Some shifts may go smoothly and leave Sims feeling accomplished, while others can bring inconvenient situations or amusing surprises. Skill gains depend on both the career and the activities performed during the workday, giving different professions more distinct gameplay.
Smart ♡ Better Careers covers numerous Base Game careers, including Business, Culinary, Entertainer, Painter, Secret Agent, Tech Guru, and Writer. It also includes career overrides from packs, such as Civil Designer, Education, Engineer, Gardener, Law, Politician, Social Media, and Video Game Streamer. Some skill gains and character value effects still require their corresponding packs, even though certain career features have been made available without them.
Smart ♡ Better Careers requires only the Base Game for its core functionality. Because it overrides existing careers, players should avoid using other mods that modify the same career tuning unless compatibility is confirmed. It is intended to make standard workdays more engaging without replacing the careers themselves.
This mod is a useful gameplay enhancement for players who want more variety during work hours, visible Sim activities, meaningful career outcomes, and more personalized experiences across different professions in The Sims 4.
