Give your Sims' pets careers with Paws At Work, featuring police dogs, therapy dogs, search and rescue dogs, barn cats, library cats, and more.
Paws At Work by LittleUnicorn gives cats and dogs real jobs in The Sims 4, allowing pets to follow work schedules, earn household income, and receive promotions. Instead of spending all their time at home, eligible pets can develop their abilities, pursue a suitable occupation, and contribute to the household finances.
The mod adds eight pet jobs, with four careers for dogs and four for cats. Dogs can become Police Tracking Dogs, Therapy Dogs, Dog Actors, or Search and Rescue Dogs. Cats can work as Barn Cats, Cat Café Cats, Library Cats, or Cat Food Models. Each job has its own schedule, pay range, and eligibility requirements based on learned commands, behavior, and personality traits.
Pets can apply for jobs through the Find a Job... interaction. The menu displays available positions, work schedules, wages, required training, and traits that may help or hinder their performance. Dogs need to learn the appropriate commands for their chosen profession, while cats must meet certain behavioral requirements depending on the job.
When a shift begins, the pet leaves the lot and disappears while working, just like a Sim with a regular job. At the end of the shift, the pet returns home, and the household receives its earnings. Pets may come back hungry or tired, with longer shifts resulting in greater fatigue.
The mod also includes a promotion system with five levels per job. Performance depends on factors such as mood, relevant personality traits, and training. Pets that perform well can earn promotions and higher wages, while missed shifts can reduce their progress. If a pet misses three consecutive shifts, it may lose its job.
Players can check a pet's current position, career level, earnings, upcoming shift, and promotion progress through the Job Info interaction. Working pets in other households also retain their jobs and continue working in the background when players switch households.
The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs is required, but no additional libraries or dependency mods are needed. Script Mods must be enabled for the mod to function.
Paws At Work is a fun gameplay addition for players who want more realistic pet routines, career progression for cats and dogs, and an extra source of income for their Sims' households.
