Ask To Be Godparent by SimChelle adds a special family interaction to The Sims 4, allowing parents to ask a close friend to become their child's godparent. This mod makes godparent relationships part of the actual game, giving players another way to build meaningful family connections and create more detailed family stories.

Parents can find the Ask to Be Child's Godparent interaction under Friendly → Deep Thoughts in the Sim pie menu. A Sim Picker lets the parent choose which child the request is for. The feature supports Infants, Toddlers, Children, and Teens, making it possible to establish godparent relationships at different stages of childhood.

However, not every request is guaranteed to succeed. The prospective godparent can randomly accept or decline, with custom notifications informing the player of the outcome. If the request is accepted, the game establishes permanent relationship roles identifying the adult as the child's godparent and the child as their godchild.

Parents also receive a special Someone I Can Trust moodlet lasting 7 Sim days after a successful request. This positive buff reflects the reassurance of having a trusted person who can support and care for their child.

Ask To Be Godparent is a Base Game Compatible mod that adds more depth to family relationships without introducing complicated new systems. It is especially useful for players who enjoy family gameplay, generational storytelling, and representing close friendships as meaningful connections within their Sims' families.

XML Injector is required for the custom social interaction to function. Place the package file in your Mods folder and ensure that Custom Content and Mods are enabled in the game settings.
