The Sims 4 released a new update on December 2, 2025, bringing quality-of-life improvements, fresh Build/Buy options, and a large collection of bug fixes. This patch, available on PC, Mac, PlayStation, and Xbox, focuses on stability while preparing the game for several upcoming content drops.

New Additions
This update introduces new furniture swatches across a selection of Build/Buy items. Players can now enjoy more variety in colors and finishes, giving builders extra flexibility when decorating homes.

The patch also sets the stage for multiple upcoming kits, including a holiday-season release and a creator-focused Build/Buy kit scheduled later in December.

Major Fixes and Improvements
The December 2 update resolves many community-reported problems across the base game and multiple packs. Some of the most noticeable improvements include:
  • Privacy Mosaic Fix – The censor blur no longer appears incorrectly during fully clothed interactions.
  • Radio Audio Bug Resolved – Radios will no longer wake sleeping Sims due to incorrect audio behavior.
  • Aspiration Progression Fixed – Teens aging into Young Adults now correctly carry over eligible aspirations.
  • Furniture Swatch Errors Removed – Duplicate or incorrect swatches on various chairs, sofas, and stools have been corrected, with new options added.
  • Texture and Pattern Fixes – Issues like wallpaper corners, facade glitches, and mismatched textures have been cleaned up for smoother visual consistency.
  • Incorrect Trait Assignment Removed – Sims can no longer gain traits meant for packs they do not own, including the unintended “Fear of Horses.”
  • Young Adult Notification Fix – Moodlets and quirk notifications now behave correctly for Young Adult Sims.
  • Improved Stability – Better performance, reduced crashing, and more reliable save files, especially for players with many packs or extensive mods.
Pack-specific fixes cover a wide range of DLC, including expansions, game packs, and kits. These improvements target gameplay issues, routing problems, animation errors, and UI inconsistencies found in packs such as City Living, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, High School Years, For Rent, Island Living, and more.

Why This Update Matters
This patch shows a clear focus on reliability. The developers targeted long-standing issues while also adding small but meaningful enhancements for builders. With the holiday kits and creator content arriving soon, this update helps stabilize the game and prepares it for new features.
