Hey Simmers! EA/Maxis has dropped a new Laundry List today, giving us a peek into the most pressing bugs and issues currently under investigation. These are things the devs are trying to fix for the next update — your reports and votes helped push many of them to the top. Here’s a summary of what’s in the works (and what you might expect soon).
What Is the Laundry List?
The Laundry List is a regular update from the Sims team, highlighting the top community-reported concerns they’re currently investigating. This doesn’t mean every issue will be resolved immediately, but it sets priorities so players know what’s being addressed. Some issues require more info or are harder to reproduce, so fixes may take time.
Top Issues Being Investigated
Here are some of the bugs and quirks the devs are working on now, grouped by area of the game:
Base Game
- Sims with the Entrepreneurial trait sometimes experience sudden jumps in career levels.
- The Venue Info icon in Build Mode keeps shining even when there's nothing new.
- A Sim writing a book can’t always resume writing properly if another Sim interrupts for a social interaction.
- Sims always sit when they go to get water.
- Some interactions with progress bars (like writing, cooking) restart from zero after loading a saved game.
- ‘Last Exception’ errors and Sim resets when exiting a changing table.
- A swatch display issue: “ymBottom_SDX037Jeans_SolidPink” shows a white color swatch for masculine Sims.
- Duplicate swatch shown in “doorDoubleSliding2x1_SDX037BUILDERTileable3Tile_set1.”
- The Holiday menu closes when switching between Sims.
- Some objects’ swatch thumbnails don’t match what’s placed (e.g., shelf wall planks) because of mis-matching textures.
- Across Multiple Packs / Game Modes
- Skill cheats won’t allow lowering a skill once you've raised it.
- Eyeglasses sometimes look like sunglasses.
- Mailboxes under certain categories are mis-sorted (e.g., some appear under “Misc Appliances” rather than “Trash Cans & Mailboxes”).
- Some interactions are missing for specific occult or child sims (e.g., “Summon a Privy Bush” isn’t available for Vampire and Fairy child Sims).
- Visual and categorization glitches in various objects and swatches across many packs.
Specific Pack / Expansion Errors
Enchanted by Nature: Hairstyles clipping with hats, non-functional “Fertilize All Crops” on oversized crop plants, odd interactions with upgrades/repairs involving composting toilets.
Business & Hobbies: Some wallpapers not appearing in filters correctly by color.
Life & Death: Certain sinks can’t be slotted at top placement; texture glitches on shirts; child ghost issues when dying of heat/freezing.
Lovestruck, For Rent, Growing Together, Eco Lifestyle, Discover University, Cats & Dogs, Get to Work and various stuff/kits packs also have issues with color swatches, miscategorized objects, misplaced thumbnails, or visual mismatches.
What To Keep In Mind
- Some issues are hard to reproduce or require more detailed reports from players to fully understand what’s going wrong.
- Not every item on the list will necessarily be patched in the very next update, but the ones with the most votes and highest visibility are more likely to be addressed soon.
- The Laundry List helps set expectations so you know what’s coming and what the team is aware of — and where it may take more time.
Looking Forward: What This Suggests
- A game patch is expected on September 18 for PC/Mac, then later for consoles. Many fixes from this Laundry List could appear in that update.
- Mod creators especially should prepare: updates to mods or custom content may be needed depending on what changes are made.
- Community involvement (reporting, upvoting) matters: the more data the devs have, the better chance items will get fixed faster.
Final Thoughts
The Laundry List for September 16, 2025 offers a hopeful look at things the devs are actively investigating. If you’ve been bugged by any of the above issues, you’re not alone — and it’s good to know the team is on it. If you can, report, vote, or share whatever you can (screenshots, details) to help make the fixes happen.
Stay tuned for the patch on September 18, and fingers crossed for smoother Simming soon!
