The PlayStation and Xbox versions of today’s update encountered an unexpected issue during final testing and will be released at a later date. The Sims team is actively working to resolve this and bring the update to console Simmers as soon as possible.
Today's Update sets the stage for the upcoming Nature’s Calling Quest Event, launching on June 24. Alongside that, several improvements were made to enhance the player experience, including fixes for the Sleek Bathroom and Sweet Allure Creator Kits, and resolved a pesky routing issue affecting fishing spots in Sulani, as flagged in our most recent Laundry List.
WHAT'S NEW IN THE SIMS 4
- New Player Guidance: A toggleable, on-screen guide is now available via Emily Guidance, giving new players quick access to basic game controls.
- UI Improvements: Goals UI elements have been streamlined to improve clarity and usability across events, holidays, discovery quests, and gameplay scenarios.
BUG FIXES AND UPDATES
Performance Improvements:
- Reduced lot loading times by up to 10%.
- Achieved performance gains of up to 22 FPS in Laptop Mode.
- Improved overall graphics performance on console and PC.
- Freed up over 18 MB of memory usage through streamlined game assets.
- Optimized background processes for faster game loading.
- Enhanced threaded rendering for smoother gameplay.
- Resolved several graphical bugs for a more stable visual experience.
Base Game
- Fixed an issue where Sims with the Kleptomaniac trait could steal high-value items despite having insufficient Mischief skill.
Island Living
- Fixed a routing issue that caused Sims to get stuck while attempting to use fishing spots in Sulani.
Businesses & Hobbies
- The song "Stuff That I Like" by Orphée Noah has been updated to its correct final version, replacing an earlier unintended version.
CREATOR KIT FIXES
Sleek Bathroom
- The Throne of Stone toilet’s back plate now correctly hides when placed against a wall.
- The Olive You Forever plant now maintains proper visibility when rotated.
- The Wave Goodbye Privacy Screen now displays swatches correctly on all glass panels.
- Rock Solid Faux Walls can now be placed seamlessly side-by-side.
Sweet Allure
- The tights (yfAcc_TightsSP64CK006Bow) now retain their intended color regardless of the Sim’s skin tone.
- Resolved a visual glitch on the back of Sims’ legs when wearing the skirt (yfBottom_SP64CK006Skirt).
- Fixed fingernail clipping when wearing the Layered Sweater (ymTop_SP64CK006LayeredSweater).
- Corrected armpit clipping/indentation on masculine frames wearing the blazer (ymTop_SP64CK006Blazer).
