The Eye Care mod brings realistic vision health and management to The Sims 4. Sims can develop eyesight issues, undergo exams, and receive treatments, making eye health part of everyday gameplay.
MAIN FEATURES
Vision Insurance
If at least one Young Adult or older Sim in a household has a job, the family automatically receives vision insurance. This gives them a discount on exams and surgeries. Losing a job removes insurance, but it returns when employment resumes.
Hidden Vision Trait & Decline
Sims are assigned a hidden trait that determines whether they start with good or poor vision. Regardless of starting point, eyesight gradually declines over time, especially for children and teens. Activities like reading, using computers, or knitting can speed up the decline. Vitamins from Adeepindigo’s Healthcare Redux can slow it down.
Eye Exams & Treatments
- Sims can schedule eye exams by phone about every three weeks.
- After exams, they may need glasses or contact lenses.
- Eligible Sims can undergo laser surgery to correct vision.
- Older Sims can develop cataracts or glaucoma, which require surgery or eye drops.
- Children and teens may occasionally catch conjunctivitis, which impacts hygiene and fun until it clears up.
Moodlets & Interactions
Sims with poor eyesight may feel frustrated, dizzy, or tired. They can complain about their vision or eyewear. Sims with good eyesight may feel confident about it.
