Update 10/31/2023: Improved Gallery Moderation and New Discovery Quests

The Sims 4 team has begun rolling out Discovery Quests, a new feature designed to guide players through different aspects of gameplay while offering in-game rewards. These quests highlight key systems, activities, and mechanics to help both new and returning players get more out of their Sims’ lives.

By completing Discovery Quests, players can earn a variety of rewards—from Simoleons and potions to satisfaction points—adding value while learning the ropes. Some of the quests include:
  • Scoring Simoleons – Discover the many ways Sims can earn money and collect some extra Simoleons as a reward.
  • Navigating Needs – Learn how to manage Sims’ needs and keep them happy.
  • Skillful Sims – Explore how to build new skills and level them up.
  • You and Your Phone – Uncover the many features available on a Sim’s phone.
  • Lifelong Aspirations – Understand how aspirations work and guide Sims toward completing them.
  • Always on the Move – Encourage Sims to explore beyond their homes and experience different worlds.
Discovery Quests can be toggled in Game Options > Tutorials & Tips.

In addition, the update introduces a new context-aware profanity filter for Gallery uploads, comments, and player bios. This system supports all languages available in The Sims 4 and is already proven in use outside of the Gallery.
