Neighborhood Stories: Marriage (+Suggest Getting Married Interaction) by flauschtrud extends the Neighborhood Stories system to let Sims autonomously form stronger romantic relationships and even get married without direct player intervention. The mod adds a new social interaction called “Suggest Trying Online Dating” which single Sims can use under the Friendly interactions menu (specifically, in the Deep Thoughts pie menu). If the suggestion succeeds, the target Sim may end up engaged or married to another eligible Sim in the save.
Beyond just the interaction, the mod introduces a “Get Married” rule that players can turn on or off. This rule governs whether unplayed or NPC Sims may marry autonomously via Neighborhood Stories. The selected spouse will meet certain conditions: matching age group, being single, fitting the target Sim’s sexual orientation, not having the “Non-Committal” trait, and not leaving any children or pets behind. The spouse inherits some of their former household’s funds, changes last name to match, and may bring existing underage children or pets into the marriage. The chance of autonomous marriages is dynamically balanced: fewer married Sims in the game increase chances, while many married Sims reduce them.
