Introduction to The Sims 4

I have friends who aren't really familiar with The Sims 4 and I wanted to show them what it is and why I think they should play it, too, especially now that we are in quarantine and practically have all the time in the world for any indoor activity that's why I created this brief intro to The Sims 4 game.

I don't want to bore you with the history of this game so lets dive straight into the meat of the matter!

WHAT IS THE SIMS 4?
Developed by Maxis and published by EA Games, The Sims 4 is a life simulation video game which means it is a game that was designed to closely simulate or copy real world activities.

WHAT IS THE RATING FOR IT?
The Sims 4 is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.

WHAT CAN YOU DO IN THE GAME?
As a player, you can create a Sim character or characters with a cap limit of 80 sims per game, and maximum of 8 sims per household. It used to be that the number of sims were unlimited, but after a while they put a limit to it most probably because of the possible problems it might cause your game like lagging or losing your household and other hiccups you might encounter when you've had too many sims in your game.

When creating a sim, you can assign specific traits and aspirations to your sim and practically control their life and explore different personalities and story lines which changes as your sim interacts with other sims.

And since your sim has to live like a real person, they will need the same basic needs as we humans have: food, shelter, clothing, etc.  Your sim will have a starting fund of 20,000 simoleons (the currency across all Sims games) and from this amount you can build or buy a house for your sim. There are a lot of pre-made houses by Maxis but you will find beautiful creations by other players in the game gallery which you can download and customize to your liking or just leave as is. I am not really that good as a builder, so often than not, I just download ready made houses and just tweak it a little bit.

In order for your sim to survive to fulfill all their needs, your sim will need to find a job or find "other means to get simoleons" (this needs a separate post).  As the one in control of your sim/s, you need to watch out for their needs and make sure they are met, or your sim will get sick, or even die - just like in real life.

There are NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) in the game so that your sim will be able to interact with other sims to fulfill their social needs, or you can just create multiple sims and place them in your household or other lots. There are also other means of fulfilling your sims' need but, again, that would need a separate post.

While the game in itself is fun and addicting, Mods and Custom Contents (CCs) make the game more interesting and enjoyable.  These Mods lets you add functionalities and other stuff that are not present in the game itself such as ownable and functional venues like 7-11 Store, McDonald's, airport, also bunk beds, ATMs, gambling, and realistic sex interactions to name a few, which makes the game more realistic while the CCs also make the game more realistic with cars, drugs (weed, xanax, etc.), but it also lets you have better looking sims and houses.
