When Origin acts up or when your internet connection is crappy, one way to run The Sims 4 is by going offline in Origin and clicking on the shortcut on your desktop.

To go offline, Launch Origin and click on Origin tab in the upper left corner of the Origin app and select "Go Offline".  Origin will remain in Offline Mode for as long as you want. Next time you exit Origin, you’ll be asked to enter your username and password, but everything will take place without an Internet connection.

Now here's how to create a desktop shortcut.

Just look for the icon/shortcut named TS4_x64.exe in this location (this is the default location unless you changed it):

C:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

Right-click on it and select Send to > desktop.

A shortcut to the game will then appear on your desktop.

Click that one instead of going thru Origin.

You might also want to pin it to your taskbar so you won't have to minimize any open window/s. Here's how to do it:

With your game running, right-click on the icon of the game on your taskbar and choose "Pin to taskbar"

That's it and the icon will remain there even after you have closed the game.  Just click on that icon next time you want to play again. 😉
